The Greater Seattle Korean Association (GSKA) and the Korean Community Service Center (KCSC) have partnered with the Seattle Police Department to enhance safety and crime prevention for Korean residents and businesses.
Through this collaboration, the Seattle Police Department will provide crime prevention education and actively engage in Korean community events and programs. Officers, including Community Outreach Coordinator Henry Liu and Korean-American Officer Curtis Oh, will lead this initiative to strengthen ties between law enforcement and the Korean community. KCSC has been supporting small business owners affected by crime since 2022 with funding from the Washington State Department of Commerce. This includes up to $1,500 in emergency aid for repairing broken windows and damaged locks, as well as mental health counseling for those impacted by crime.
Moving forward, GSKA President Wonjun Kim and Vice President Cory Han will work closely with KCSC and the Seattle Police Department to host safety seminars and outreach programs aimed at building stronger relationships between Korean businesses, community members, and law enforcement. This initiative is part of a broader effort to ensure a safer environment for the Korean community in Seattle.
